The Electric Greenway Trail Project has reached the Trail Naming phase!

This project involves a 2.9 mile multi-use trail that largely follows an existing Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) electric transmission corridor. The trail will span between Sunrise Boulevard (near Arcade Creek Park Preserve) and Watchtel Way, passing through some of Orangevale’s parks and natural areas. In Orangevale, the trail will pass through the Sundance Natural Area, on street from Highwood Way to Woodmore Oaks Drive and then along the electric corridor again from Woodmore Oaks to Streng Avenue.

Visit the City of Citrus Heights webpage here for the Naming Policy and Submission Form. Additional information on the full project, FAQs, and a trail map can be found here.

This project will provide connections to several community parks, schools, shopping centers, and neighborhoods along the corridor. This effort is part of the overall goal to increase walkability, safety, and provide improvements for pedestrians and bicyclists throughout a system of creekside trails, passive open space, and parks. It is a partnership between the City of Citrus Heights, Sunrise Recreation and Park District, Orangevale Recreation and Park District, San Juan Unified School District, Sacramento County, and Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).
